New Windows 10 Mail won't connect with Google email or calendar

Hello all -

When I opened my new Windows 10 email and clicked SYNC I am getting this Message: "We're having a problem downloading your message... and then the error code 0x80072726.

Help?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Check the store app -> your account -> downloads
Make sure all your apps are up to date
Then check Windows Update
Settings -> Update & Security
confirm that it is up to date as well.

The above made no difference to me, but this did:

In Windows Firewall (or, on my other system, in AVG), access the list of permitted applications, then add the following app to the list: C:/windows/system32/svchost.exe. This will then allow mail with google and iCloud to sync with the stock Windows 10 mail app.

You have to add the TCP ports that your firewall are blocking. I configured my AVG Firewall adding the 993 & 465 TCP & UDP ports in the applications - in this root C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SVCHOST.EXE - Edit - and last find Time Synchronization Client TCP / Time Synchronization Client UDP - Then edit the rule in remote port section in order to add the ports mentioned above.

I attached a pic with the configuration.
