Upgrade got interrupted

Hi I'm not sure what to do! My little boy switched off my pc whilst Windows 10 was doing an upgrade and now I can't access my pc or keep my files. Any ideas how I can retrieve them or have I got to strip the hard drive?

What kind of PC is it? Can you share some of the specs?
What happens when you power on your computer?
Do you see anything at all? Do you see any messages or options?

Hi it's an Asus. I'm not sure of the specs. When I switch on it goes to automatic repair and keeps doing that for each attempt. Have I got to strip my hard drive?

 

[Trouble]

At the end of automatic repair are you present with an option page to select any advanced troubleshooting options.
Usually if it fails to repair you should get an option.
I don't know what you mean by "strip my hard drive", but.....
We're probably not there yet, whatever it means.
