Please bear in mind that this is a Technical Preview for Enthusiasts. It is strongly recommended that you install on a test machine or a VM (Virtual Machine) and not on your main or only computer.

If you are using Windows Media Center on Windows 7/8/8.1, it will be removed. Please see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-faq#faq=tab1 which covers this and other important information.

In a fit of temporary insanity I let Windows try 17063 yet again. This time I had a new larger hard drive and only using 20% so a lot of Disk space, 128 MB cache and 32 GB of ram and same result. BAD POOL Header. Windows update team must have had a long drunk lately.

I agree with Bighorn. Since you used a different drive you can rule that one out as the problem. I'd think memory as well. Might want to try it one RAM module at a time to find the faulty one....

I ran HDD Regenerator with no errors or corrections on the new drive before I cloned it from my Seagate SSHD that works perfectly. I ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic twice with no errors. My computer works fine with 17025 and does not work on any build after that. I do not have Windows Store and cannot get it installed. I use Avira. Nothing is wrong on my end. Maybe these newer versions refuse to work without the Windows Store.

After 5 failed attempts to install 17063, I uninstalled Avira and this finally installed 17063. Was it worth the hassle? NO
