Set Default Search Results

How do you set the default Search Results window to "list" view?

If you are referring to searches in your File explorer, select the View tab and change from Content to List

yes that is what I'm referring to. How do you make it so it always shows in "List" without having to change it?

File Explorer has five types of folders:

• Documents
• Pictures
• Music
• Videos
• General Items

You can open one folder type at a time then:

• Select the View tab and click List
• While still in view tab, click Options > Change Folder and Search options
• In the Folder Options window that opens select the View tab and then click Apply to Folders button
• Click Apply then OK

This will make all folders of the Type you selected display in List.

You'll need to repeat this for each of the five types of folder mentioned above.

File explorer will keep these settings until you physically change the view yourself.​
