After upgrading to the anniversary edition, Windows refuses to enter the sleep mode by following the power schedule (I can put it there from the menu). Moreover, I bought a new computer (Dell Alienware R3 with Win10 Pro), When I got it and began setup, things worked as expected, including following power schedule and entering the sleep mode. However, as soon as an automatic update happened, this machine too refuses to follow the power schedule and enter the sleep mode.

What happened?

Hi John,

Welcome to the Forum.

When you check your power plan click the Change advanced power settings and check what settings are currently set up for the Multimedia Settings > When sharing media. The default there is usually Prevent idling to sleep, but some users have found if they change that to Allow the computer to sleep that this prevents the Power Plan being ignored in effect.

Regards,
