First, are you using a registry cleaner? I don't trust them any longer because update became corrupted when I had Windows 7. I think it was because I had cleaned and defragged the registry. Bad move. I had to do a clean install. I used a Windows ISO to reinstall Windows 7. Everything went fine, but updating A TON of updates took a lot of time, even though they installed fine thereafter. My point is that you may have to do a fresh install if something is amiss with Windows update.
